How You Can Help
There are many ways to get involved in the lives of orphans, at-risk children and their families. Buckner not only provides services to clients such as these, we offer ways for you to become involved in ministry and missions. Below are just a few opportunities we have available for you to help.
Donate. Buckner provides services utilizing a diverse funding stream. However, we wouldn’t be able to provide the quality of care that we’re known for if we didn’t have support from our community. Financial donations can underwrite therapeutic services for children not covered by Medicaid, provide special activities and outings, purchase school supplies, and help our operations continue smoothly.
Be A Family. Become a foster parent or adoptive parent. You can provide a loving, nurturing home to children who need a place to belong. Call Rebecca Hill at 409-866-0976 for more information.
Go Somewhere. Have you ever wanted to take a mission trip, but didn’t know how to begin? For both individuals and groups, Buckner has missions opportunities in many countries throughout the world, including Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, Ethiopia, Kenya, Russia, China and the USA. Maybe you’d even like to visit us in Southeast Texas.
Do Something. Maybe you want to volunteer on our campus, and support our child care staff and foster parents by providing fun activities or supportive services for our residents. Here are a few ideas:

Sponsor a Holiday Party. You bring the food and fun, we’ll provide the space and bring the kids. We have a particular need for those ‘forgotten holidays,’ like Valentine’s, St. Patrick’s, or Arbor Day. And we’re always needing birthday supplies, including gift wrap, banners, streamers and party supplies for family parties at the houses.
Adopt-a-Room. With around 35-45 kids on campus at a time, we often need help decorating bedrooms. Maybe your group would like to take on this project and make a child’s bedroom someplace special. Donated comfortors, quilts, pillows and decorations become the property of our children, so when they leave us they always take those items with them. (which means we frequently need redecorating.)
Tutoring. During the school year, our kids frequently need extra help with homework. Your group could come and work with our children, helping them accomplish their educational goals.
